ONLINE ENGLISH LEARNING DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC: MOTIVATING AND DEMOTIVATING FACTORS AMONG EFL STUDENTS

Since pandemic novel outbreak, almost all educational institutes have transitioned to online learning in order keep the teaching and process going. In Indonesia, practice of is still relatively, unclearly understood due minimum awareness ICT (Information Communication Technology). Some studies revealed that gave positive as well negative impacts students’ motivation. Especially, may cause difficulties, stress, anxiety learning. Therefore, this present study was intended reveal factors affecting motivation demotivation for students English online, more specifically, during COVID-19 find out which were most motivating demotivating. A survey design employed study. Thirty-six an education program at a private university involved. The data collected using questionnaire analysed statistic descriptive technique. findings could been influenced by intrinsic extrinsic factors. particular, there 5 motivation, namely: self-efficacy, teachers’ performances & attitudes, contents materials, classmates’ attitudes.
